Jamdani is form of weaving, vividly patterned  and woven on sheer cotton or silk fabric.

Traditionally also knows as Dhakai,comes originally from Dhaka and woven on a handloom by craftspeople. Jamdani is an art form of weaving and combining the   intricacy of design with  vibrant colors. The outcome looks highly graceful and breathable. Jamdani originated in Bangladesh. So many artisans opted to settle in Bengal after partition and are continue to practice this fine traditional and ethnic art of weaving sarees and fabrics on looms.
