Tie - Dye or  'bandhani', also known as 'Bandhej', is derived from the Sanskrit word bandh, which means to tie, a traditional craft practiced in Gujarat and Rajasthan in India. It is a resist dyeing process where the fabric is pinched and tied for sometime with thread before it is dyed to create a pattern made up of small dots all over the fabric.
